Rich Oloroso-sherry maturation defines the Glendronach 18 Year Old Allardice. On the nose it opens with dark muscovado sugar and fudge, mixed with ripe stewed fruits like plums and figs, morello cherries, and warming spice notes of cinnamon and allspice. The palate is full-bodied and luxuriously rich: chocolate orange, toasted walnuts, raisins, dates, and deep baked fruit compote, with oak tannins holding everything together. The finish is long, complex and satisfying, lingering with dark chocolate, dried fruit, oak spice, and a touch of vanilla sweetness.
