This expression begins with 14 years aged in ex-bourbon American oak casks before getting a finishing touch in new, charred American oak barrels from the Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky. On the nose it delivers vibrant vanilla, hints of citrus zest, caramelized brown sugar, baked apple and summer fruits, balanced by rich woody oak aromas. The palate is sweet and layered: creamy toffee, candied orange peel, woody spices, fresh toasted oak, mellow caramel and honey. The finish is long-lasting, with lingering sweetness and warming spice tones like cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg, and soft oak.
