The blend includes whiskeys with different mash bills, such as one from Indiana’s MGP distillery that uses 75 percent corn, 21 percent rye, and 4 percent malted barley, and another with 84 percent corn, 8 percent rye, and 8 percent barley. It is bottled at 92 proof, which is 46 percent alcohol by volume. The whiskey is non-chill filtered, meaning it retains more of its natural flavors and texture. High West Bourbon is known for its balance of sweetness and spice, making it approachable yet complex for both new and experienced bourbon drinkers.
