In addition to distilling his own whiskey, Thomas Jefferson was also renowned for being a wine enthusiast thanks in part to the time he spent in France as America’s first ambassador. As such, it’s only a formality for the whiskey line that bears his name to create an expression that blends the two iconic drinks together into a drink fit for America’s finest statesman. And thus, the Jefferson's Reserve Grand Selection Chateau Pichon Baron was born. Made with the magic that is cask-finishing, the bourbon starts as a proprietary corn mash bill which is fermented, distilled, and aged in new American white oak casks. After this initial maturation, it is then transferred to French oak barrels that previously held Chateau Pichon Baron red wines to undergo further aging. This infuses the bourbon with the wine’s luxurious flavors, creating a true one-of-a-kind expression that seduces your senses with every sip. Once on the glass, the wine quickly makes its presence known with the luscious aromas of raspberries, red apples, waxy peels, and a dash of toasty oak.
