The first release in WhistlePigs FarmStock series is a step in the direction of the distillers in Vermont making their rye whiskey completely at their farm! Crop No.001 is made with a portion of whiskey theyve distilled themselves along with slightly older Canadian rye and then even older American rye."Although the assemblage of whiskey here is rather exotic the nose shows classic high-tone notes of orange grapefruit peel and cracked pink peppercorn that is juxtaposed by a weighty impression of vanilla cream and toasted oak. The palate is fairly light for a whiskey from this label but the older spirits in the blend bring an admirable sweetness and a roundness that leads to a finish that lingers with honeycomb and slight hint of spice."
